We’ll Get Straight To The Level: A Prehensile-Tailed Porcupette Is Now On Exhibit At Stone Zoo!

The infant, born on June 25, is the third offspring for mother, Prickles, age 9, and pop, Shadow, age 10. The most recent prickly addition was born on exhibit weighing simply over one pound and is settling in nicely with the household within the Home windows to the Wild house. Learn extra:


Dedicated to Conservation: Zoo New England participates within the Prehensile-tailed Porcupine Species Survival Plan (SSP), a cooperative, inter-zoo program coordinated nationally by way of the Affiliation of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). SSPs assist to make sure the survival of chosen species in zoos and aquariums, most of that are threatened or endangered, and improve conservation of those species within the wild. This start is the results of a beneficial breeding between Prickles and Shadow.
