Orem, Utah – Whereas locals are firing up the grill for Pioneer Day, PETA supporters can be serving up some meals for thought on a busy native sidewalk this Sunday by barbecuing a “canine” on a grill that reads, “If You Wouldn’t Eat a Canine, Why Eat a Pig?”

When:      Sunday, July 24, 12 midday

The place:    The intersection of E. College Parkway and S. State Avenue, Orem

“Pigs are clever, delicate people who deserve the identical glad lives as our canines and cats,” says PETA Government Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is urging anybody who’s disturbed by the thought of chowing down on a chow chow to increase that compassion to all different animals and go vegan.”

PETA—whose motto reads, partly, that “animals are usually not ours to eat”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.
