Vegans to BBQ a ‘Canine’ at Independence Day Pageant

As People are firing up the barbecue over the Fourth of July weekend, PETA members will serve up some meals for thought outdoors Addison Circle Park on Sunday—whereas town’s vacation celebration is going down—by barbecuing a “canine” on a grill that reads, “If You Wouldn’t Eat a Canine, Why Eat a Pig?”

When:      Sunday, July 3, 6–8 p.m.

The place:     Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Cir., Addison

“A pig deserves freedom from ache and worry each bit as a lot as a canine, a cat, or a human does,” says PETA Govt Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is urging anybody who’s disturbed by the concept of chowing down on a chow chow to increase that compassion to all different animals and go vegan.”

PETA—whose motto reads, partly, that “animals aren’t ours to eat”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For extra info, please go to or comply with the group on Twitter, Fb, or Instagram.
