The Ontario SPCA’s cell spay/neuter unit rolls into Renfrew County


IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pembroke, ON (June 22, 2022) – The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s 38-foot SPCA Cellular Animal Wellness Companies unit is in Renfrew County this week to host a spay/neuter clinic for cats from underserved pet households.  

The SPCA Cellular Animal Wellness Companies unit might be offering spay/neuter surgical procedures from June 22-24 at Pembroke Legion Department 72, positioned at 202 Pembroke St. E. This cell clinic occasion was made potential due to the generosity of Pet Valu Pembroke, Pet Valu Petawawa, USW Native 1568, USW Native 4096 and Valley Fairy Tails, who sponsored the occasion. 

“We’re thrilled to welcome the SPCA Cellular Animal Wellness Companies unit again to Renfrew County to help the group with its ongoing animal wellness efforts,” says Amanda Eckersley, Supervisor, Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre. “We’re grateful to our sponsors for making this clinic potential, and to the pet households who’ve registered their cats for this essential service, which helps scale back pet overpopulation.” 

Due to a Pet Valu “Companions for Change™” grant of $175,000, the Ontario SPCA launched its SPCA Cellular Animal Wellness Companies Unit in 2019, delivering wellness examinations and spay/neuter providers to underserved communities. With the assistance of beneficiant donations from devoted pet lovers throughout the nation, since 2018, Pet Valu’s “Companions for Change grants have helped animal rescues and charities throughout Canada obtain bigger capital tasks. Along with “Companions for Change” grants, annually, Pet Valu hosts June Pet Appreciation Month and October “Companions for Change” occasions, which sees all shops elevating funds, accumulating product donations and internet hosting Nationwide Adoption Weekends to help a whole bunch of local people rescues.
