October 23, 2022 (JUBA) – The South Sudanese President Salva Kiir is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a working visit, the presidency announced on Sunday.
Kiir was seen off at Juba International airport by the First Vice President, Riek Machar.
The presidency press secretary, Lily Adhieu Martin said Kiir would follow up on issues of mutual interest previously discussed between South Sudan and the Gulf nation.
She said, “While in the UAE, it is expected that senior members of the delegation will hold bilateral meetings with Emirati officials on many areas of cooperation that will culminate to one-on-one meeting between President Salva Kiir Mayardit and His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates”.
The South Sudanese leader last visited the UAE in April this year, two months after attending the Dubai Expo 2020, a world event that inspires people by showcasing the best of collaboration and innovation from around the world.
