October 22, 2022 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s Security Affairs advisor, Tut Gatluak Manine on Saturday delivered President Salva Kiir’s message to the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan in Khartoum.
Kiir’s written message focused on the bilateral relations between the two nations, political development and progress on the implementation of Juba Agreement on Peace in Sudan.
In his message, the South Sudanese leader affirmed that he would visit Khartoum soon.
Speaking to reporters in Khartoum, Manime said he briefed the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council on the implementation of the revitalized peace accord.
Sudan is one of the guarantors of the revitalized peace deal inked in 2018.
The South Sudanese official reiterated Kiir’s willingness to resolve Sudan’s political crisis.
“The common destiny of the peoples of the two countries requires their governments to coordinate and cooperate in all issues of common concern,” he told SUNA.
Manime said Juba would involve all Sudanese political forces in efforts to attain peace.
During the meeting, Al-Burhan lauded Juba’s effort towards peace and stability in Sudan.
He vowed to implement the Juba peace deal and complete the security arrangement files.
Al-Burhan further stressed the need for the committees to solve the issues of Abyei area to carry out their work to establish security, stability and community peace in the region.
