Somalia minister of Defense Mr. Noor thanked the government and the people of Djibouti for
their support and dedication to the people and the government of Somalia, given the importance of the two brotherly countries in cooperating closely in the eradication of terrorism to achieve in
peace, development and prosperity between the two brotherlynations and the region at large.
For his part, Mr Burhan said that the government
and the people of Djibouti are fully supporting the struggle of the people and
the forces of the Somali National Army are clearing out Al-Shabaab terrorists
from the country.
He furthermore underlined that the peace and
stability of Somalia is the foundation for the peace of the region and the
world “Therefore, Djibouti State is committed to help the government of Somalia
in ensuring security and fighting terrorism,” he asserted.
On Sunday,The Somali government announced that it set up ”hotlines for people contacted
by Al-Shabaab to demand extortion. Government says callers are not required to
give their names and location; all they need to do is give information about
person demanding the extortion
