Midlake have launched a brand new track, ‘Bethel Woods’, taken from their forthcoming LP FOR THE SAKE OF BETHEL WOODS. The only is accompanied by a music video starring Michael Peña. Take a look at the Brantley Gutierrez-directed clip under.
“’Bethel Woods’ lyrically was born out of a documentary movie nonetheless of Dave Chandler (Jesse’s Dad) at 16 years previous sitting within the large crowd of Woodstock in 1969,” Midlake frontman Eric Pulido stated in an announcement. “Dave died just a few years in the past in tragic circumstances and I used to be moved to jot down this track from his standpoint with a message of peace in returning to that particular place and reuniting with family members ‘down the highway’.”
Gutierrez added: “When Midlake approached me to direct the video for ‘Bethel Woods’ I knew I needed to do a tackle a ghost story. The idea of emotional attachment to the folks and the reminiscences in these locations, what the confusion would possibly really feel like for many who have handed on. Working with the extremely gifted Michael Peña was an absolute pleasure; he introduced one thing to the character that felt sincere and relatable.”
Midlake’s new album, the follow-up to 2013’s Antiphonis, arrives on March 18 through ATO. The band beforehand shared the lead single ‘In the meantime…’.
