No. 10 Fleming Court, Oakleigh South, sold for $1.37m.

Paul Caminiti reckons his kids are already making plans for the bonus $170,000 their Oakleigh South home made under the hammer on May 15.

But the $1.37m sale of their 10 Fleming Court home was still a weight off his mind.

Mr Caminiti said he’d been nervous ahead of the auction, knowing nothing similar to his home had been sold in the area for a few months and blowout results earlier in the year had settled into a more “consistent” level recently.

But with the family’s $1.2m reserve rapidly surpassed, he was thrilled his concerns were misplaced.

“You can’t help being nervous, even though everyone keeps telling you you have nothing to worry about,” Mr Caminiti said.

While he is planning to put much of the bonus into hydronic heating and a mansard roof on the family home they are building in Bentleigh, his kids also have their eyes on it.

“They have all decided on their bedrooms and what they want in there in terms of the furniture, so they have well and truly started spending the money,” Mr Caminiti said.

Ray White’s Leigh Kelepouris said with seven active bidders the auction was a sign vendors who didn’t set a “ridiculous reserve” could be rewarded.

The home’s outdoor entertainment space was popular among prospective buyers.

The Caminiti family had updated the floors and refreshed the home’s paint job before listing.

It was also a nod to painting and updating your floors, Mr Kelepouris said.

The home sold to a young professional couple.
