BAIDOA [Benaadir News] – The President of the Southwest, Abdiazis Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, received a delegation of ambassadors from the international community at the Presidential Center in Baidoa on Tuesday.
The meeting of the President and the ambassadors of the international community, which was also attended by ministers, the director of the presidency, and the president’s aides, discussed the strengthening of operations to remove Al-Shabaab from the country, dealing with people affected by drought and streamlining government services.
The delegation of representatives of the international community led by UN envoy for Somalia James Swan thanked President Abdicis Laftagareen for the welcome he gave to the city of Baidoa, promising to increase their support to the Southwest State.
The President of the Southwest, Abdizais Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, thanked the representatives of the international community for their support to Somalia, demanding that Somalia be helped in the fight against Al-Shabaab and dealing with the drought.
A delegation of ambassadors from the international community to Somalia, led by the United Nations representative in Somalia, Amb James Swan, is also expected to visit the centers of the other four regional governments, where they will meet their leaders.
