Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

The Premier League season will of course draw to a close on Sunday the 23rd of May.

All 20 teams will be in action at 4 PM UK time, with some having a fair bit more to play for than others.

Liverpool, for example, need a win to guarantee their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will head into the day’s action sat 4th in the English top-flight. However, Leicester City are only behind them due to a worse goal difference.

So, as long as Liverpool win against Crystal Palace on Sunday and Leicester do not beat their opponent by at least seven goals, the Reds should be in the CL next term.

As for Liverpool’s opponents this weekend, Palace are sat 13th in the league with nothing left to play for. So, on paper, it should be a fairly easy game for a fired-up Liverpool.

The Merseysiders, though, do look set to be without one of their top scorers this season on Sunday.

Diogo Jota was injured vs Manchester United earlier this month, with Klopp claiming at the time that the Portuguese was out for the season:

A few days later the German claimed Jota had a tiny chance of returning vs Palace.

However, with Jota missing from Liverpool’s latest training pictures on Friday, his chances of featuring this weekend do seem to be rather slim:
